Grace Hill Communications

Like many first time referral clients, Grace Hill came to Boston Creative for a snazzy annual report design. They visited our office, with loads of real-life snapshots and text documents in hand. After spending some time working with them to understand their mission and role in the community, we set out to create a theme for the book. We found inspiration right there in the Grace Hill logo – a circle with three hands reaching out to one another. By circling the hands in each photograph, we were able to express the many ways that Grace Hill touches people’s lives. One simple word summed it all up, and Together became the perfect glue to hold it, well, together. This position was also extended to a range of other Grace Hill communications.

Furniture Brands International Employee Incentive Program

Furniture Brands International needed a program to inspire employees to think beyond the daily routine and make decisions that positively impact the success of the company. Boston Creative designed a simple program that offered a clear message and fun graphics. Employees who achieved program goals were rewarded with a week of paid vacation, thus the theme Make a Difference / Make a Week!.

The vintage poster designs – printed in offset litho on uncoated stock – offered a nod to classic American posters of the 1930's and 40's, and provided a sense of pride and team spirit.

Travelers' Health Service Logo & Tag Line

Travelling abroad? Perhaps to an exotic location that poses potential health risks? Travelers' Health Service – a division of BJC HealthCare – prepares business travelers by providing valuable information and preventative medical care prior to travel. Backed by the world-class expertise and resources of BJC HealthCare, THS can provide the most current destiny-specific data and even has immediate access to hard-to-find medications and supplies. Expert and efficient, THS saves companies time and money, enabling their employees to travel worry-free.

The logo design by Boston Creative, with its "flying T" and exotic colors, almost feels like an airline logo. The tag line Go. Well. Prepared. offers a clever play on words – working individually or together.

Rockwood School District Communications

Rockwood School District initially hired Boston Creative to design a strategic plan book. Since they were so happy with the result, they later asked us to redesign all of the district websites. Taking inspiration from the plan book design, we developed a template to accomodate over 34 websites in all. Emphasis was placed on usability and navigation to accomodate extensive and complex content that would need to be updated frequently. The cohesive design offered district-wide familiarity for staff, students and parents, while also allowing for each school to have it's own look. Custom Flash headers were also designed to enable each school site to further express it's mission and culture. All final production was handled in-house by the Rockwood Communications Department. We worked closely with the Rockwood team throughout the production process to ensure a smooth and timely launch.

We also extended the new design scheme to an interactive annual report built entirely in Flash, as well as a printed newsletter. Rockwood has embraced the new design scheme and continues to use it as a guide for their communications. While some clients engage Boston Creative for a comprehensive overhaul, Rockwood is a great example of how we can also make a big impact on a client's communications on a project basis.

Enterprise Holdings Annual Meeting

2008 was the first year that Enterprise's annual meeting included not only Enterprise Rent-A-Car managers, but also managers from their newly acquired brands Alamo and National Car Rental. So, providing an annual meeting experience that created a common bond among all attendees was more important than ever before.

The Boston Creative strategy was to focus on elements of Enterprise's heritage, with an emphasis on the future. The theme exceed / succeed was inspired by a key Enterprise founding value that states: "Exceed customer expectations and success will follow". This simple two-word statement worked well across a wide range of communications – a refreshing departure from more verbose themes of previous years. Bright colors and photos of exuberant employees rounded out the design.

We created and produced a wide range of communications including display banners, collateral, invitations, and a video.

Enterprise Rent-A-Car Teaser Video

Enterprise Rent-A-Car needed a simple video to alert annual meeting attendees that the keynote presentation was about to begin. Boston Creative responded with a clever animation piece using minimal design elements and Enterprise's founding values as inspiration.

Originally intended for a one-time use, this piece really grabbed attention and was requested company-wide for use at other events. Enterprise was so pleased with our performance on this simple video that we were awarded a much larger project: theme development and all communications for the following year's annual meeting.

The upbeat animation and original music score were created by Grant Essig at SteadyRain.

Switzer's Candy Company Package Design

Switzer's Candy Company approached Boston Creative with a fun project: create a special package design for a new flavor – Chewy Green Apple – that Switzer's could propose to Cracker Barrel Old Country Stores. The package needed to complement the vintage style of the Cracker Barrel retail experience and leverage Switzer's heritage.

We explored a range of concepts, finally settling on the one that offered the perfect balance of shelf impact, brand heritage, and vintage fun. Cracker Barrel loved it, and Switzer's won the account. Switzer's was so happy with the new design, they asked us to update their entire line of flavors. Along the way, we've eaten cases of free Switzer's (very important research) and we still love it. Go out and get some!
